MOSCOW, December 23 Women this year visited VKontakte more often, and men visited YouTube more often, while Telegram turned out to be the leader in terms of number sessions in both sexes, a Beeline study showed, the results of which are available.
The study is based on data from the Beeline.Analytics service, whose specialists compiled the top applications by the number of sessions (application visits) and traffic among Russians from January 1 to December 15, 2023.

Among girls, the top 5 applications included Telegram, VKontakte, WhatsApp, YouTube and Instagram*, and among men — Telegram, YouTube, VKontakte, WhatsApp and Instagram*.
Among cities — the leaders in the number of visits to these applications were Moscow in first place, Yekaterinburg in second, Kazan in third, St. Petersburg in fourth, and Krasnodar in fifth place. At the same time, in the capital, users most often visited Instagram*, in Yekaterinburg — on VKontakte, and in Kazan and St. Petersburg they preferred Telegram.
The study also showed that the largest number of sessions per year were among users aged 35-40 years (17.9%), in second place — the range from 30 to 35 years (17.5%), in third place — from 40 up to 45 years old (16.5%), the fourth place is for those who are from 45 to 50 years old (10.7%), and in fifth place is the category from 18 to 25 years old (8.16%). People over 60 years of age logged into apps the least often.
Among those aged 18 to 25, the most popular are VKontakte, Telegram, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram*. Among users in the age category from 35 to 40 years old, Telegram is in first place by the number of sessions, followed by VKontakte, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram*. Data on the popularity of applications among other age categories is not provided.
«If we talk about traffic, then during the study period among users of devices on the Android OS, the most gigabytes were spent on YouTube, TikTok, VKontakte, Telegram, Odnoklassniki. Among users of devices on iOS, the first in terms of traffic volume was «VKontakte» application, YouTube is in second place, Telegram is in third place, TikTok and AppStore are fourth and fifth, respectively. The peaks in terms of the amount of traffic consumed were November, April, June, July and May,» the company concluded.
