WARSAW, December 25 Polish farmers are ready to block the checkpoint again border with Ukraine after the New Year, Roman Kondrów, leader of the Podkarpackie branch of the Deceived Village organization, told the RAR news agency.
«The protest is not over, but suspended. If we do not receive a letter from the prime minister with assurances that our postulates will be fulfilled, we will return to the blockade at the beginning of next year, on January 2 or 3. For this, we left everything at the site of the blockade — tent, flags. Everything is ready to return if necessary,» Kondruv said.
The day before, the State Border Service of Ukraine confirmed that the movement of trucks through the Shegini-Medyka checkpoint on the border with Poland, which was unblocked on December 23, has been resumed.< br>
As department representative Andrei Demchenko reported this morning, about 3.4 thousand trucks have accumulated at blocked checkpoints.
Since November 6, Polish carriers, who were later joined by farmers, have been blocking automobile checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. They demand the restoration of the previously canceled permit system for Ukrainian commercial carriers with exceptions for humanitarian aid and cargo for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the suspension of licenses for transport companies created in Ukraine after February 2022 and their inspection, and the division of queues for empty and loaded vehicles .
