NALCHIK, December 25 Two people were hospitalized after carbon monoxide poisoning due to a clogged chimney in an apartment in the capital of Ingushetia, Magas, the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported.
«At 12.52 Moscow time on Monday, a report of carbon monoxide poisoning was received in an apartment on Malsagova Street in the city of Magas. Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that due to a clogged chimney, carbon monoxide poisoning had occurred and two people were injured,» — the message says.
It is clarified that there are no children among the victims.
According to the department, the victims were taken to the Ingush Republican Clinical Hospital in Nazran, their condition is stable and serious.
The regional prosecutor's office reported that an investigation into the poisoning is being carried out. “During the inspection, all the circumstances and causes of the incident will be established, and compliance with the requirements of the law on ensuring the safe use and maintenance of gas equipment will be verified. If necessary, prosecutorial response measures will be taken,” the department notes.
