MOSCOW, December 25 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law providing that a person included in the list of undesirable foreign and international non-governmental organizations cannot be a founder or member of an NPO. The corresponding document is posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
According to the law, a “prohibition is issued to be a founder (participant, member) of a non-profit organization to a person included in the List of foreign and international non-governmental organizations whose activities are recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation.”< br>Also, the founders of religious organizations will not be able to freely leave their membership, because this could lead to a split or liquidation of religious organizations.
The law provides that if an autonomous non-profit organization has one founder left who has lost contact with the organization, then within three months one of the persons included in the management can submit an application to amend information in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and become a founder. If no one submits an application during this time, the organization will be liquidated.
