MOSCOW, December 27 A suspect in the murder of a pensioner in the Moscow region was detained; he turned out to be a 72-year-old rural resident who recently served a sentence for rape and attempted murder, reports the regional headquarters of the Russian Investigative Committee.
A criminal case of murder was opened in the Moscow region on December 23 after the disappearance of a 70-year-old Muscovite who went to Kashira by train to her dacha. That day, she called her daughter and said that an elderly man hit her on the head several times and dragged her into a car, then the phone was no longer accessible.

The suspect turned out to be a 72-year-old resident of the village of Topkanovo, who had recently served a sentence for rape and attempted murder of a minor in 2005,” the department’s Telegram channel says.
During the investigation, the woman’s route from the railway station to her dacha, located in one of the settlements of the Kashira urban district, was established using video surveillance cameras; the movement of cars in the same direction was established and compared. The owner of each was checked, and a pensioner from the village of Topkanovo, living near the railway station, came into view.
Investigators examined the car and found blood in the trunk. In addition, experts identified the suspect’s genotype on the victim’s belongings, which were found in a trash bin in a neighboring village.
It is noted that investigators and criminologists are working with the man. The investigation continues.
