< strong>MOSCOW, December 28The An-24 aircraft that landed on a frozen river in Yakutia was put into operation more than 50 years ago, as follows from the open data of the board card.
Rosaviation classified today's An-24 landing on the frozen Kolyma River in the village of Zyryanka as a serious aviation incident. As follows from photographs published by the department, the tail number of the aircraft is RA-47821.
According to portals dedicated to the history of Russian aircraft, in particular Russianplanes, this An-24RV aircraft was put into operation more than 52 years ago — on September 28, 1971. During the Soviet years, it was operated by Aeroflot, and later was transferred to the Novosibirsk Aviation Enterprise (1993-2009). Then, in different years, it was used by UTair (2011), KrasAvia (2015), IrAero (2016), and since 2018 it has been on the balance sheet of Polar Airlines.
Earlier, the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office reported that the An-24 plane in Yakutia landed off the runway, landing on the Kolyma River, the crew and passengers were not injured. According to preliminary information, the cause of the incident was “a crew error in piloting the aircraft.” The plane belongs to Polar Airlines; there were 30 passengers on board, including two children, and four crew members; the passengers were taken to the airport building, as reported in the Telegram channel of a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency. The Investigative Committee has begun an investigation.
