MOSCOW, December 28 The Central Bank has decided to permanently abolish commissions for banks for transfers between citizens in the Faster Payments System (FPS), the regulator said.
““The regulator decided to establish a zero tariff for these operations without a limitation on the validity period,” the Bank of Russia clarified.
Previously, the grace period for banks for this operation should have ended before July 1, 2024.
In addition, from April 1, 2024, the regulator also abolished commissions for banks on such transactions in the SBP, such as transferring cashback to Russians and returning it to the seller if they refuse to purchase.
According to the regulator, this step will make the SBP loyalty program more attractive not only for trade and service enterprises, but also for the banks that serve them.
The Central Bank also reminded that Russians will be able to transfer up to 30 million rubles per month free of charge between their accounts in different banks through SBP. The new limit will take effect on May 1, simultaneously with the entry into force of the corresponding law.
At the same time, the Bank of Russia indicated that the amount of commission-free transfers between citizens will not change and will amount to 100 thousand rubles per month. The commission for transactions exceeding this amount will not change — 0.5 percent of the transfer amount, but not more than 1.5 thousand rubles.
