Matviychuk: Russia will be able to take Kiev with 500 thousand soldiers
To take control of Kiev, the Russian Armed Forces will need about 500,000 fighters, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk said in an interview with NEWS.ru.
The publication's interlocutor admitted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had deployed up to 150,000 soldiers to the area of the Ukrainian capital, including constructing fortifications in case of an offensive by the Russian army. From the point of view of an expert, the transition of Kiev to the control of the Russian Federation is necessary to fulfill the tasks of a special military operation.
The analyst did not rule out that the transition of the Ukrainian capital to the control of the Russian Federation could also occur as a result of negotiations with the West, including after prolonged hostilities in the Kyiv region. Such problems cannot be solved “off the cuff,” Matviychuk concluded.
