The Japanese corporation can also boast of record global sales in November (the results of cars from the Toyota, Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino brands were taken into account).
According to a report published on the official website of Toyota Motor, during November of this year, factories owned by the corporation produced a total of 926,573 Toyota and Lexus vehicles. This result is 11.2% more than in November 2022. The manufacturer also said that last month’s figure was for him an absolute record for car production in a single month.

In addition, in November the corporation produced 126,789 Daihatsu cars and 14,084 Hino cars. Cumulative production of 1,067,446 vehicles was 8.6% higher than the same month a year earlier. By the way, this result also became an absolute record for Toyota Motor.
The report states that in the partial year 2023 (from January to November), the Japanese manufacturer produced 9,231,068 Toyota and Lexus cars, 1,235,045 Daihatsu units and 145,907 Hino units. The total production volume for 11 months amounted to 10,612,020 cars. Let us remember that at the beginning of this year, Toyota Motor announced that they were going to produce 10.6 million cars worldwide in 2023. There is still a month left, so the manufacturer will obviously exceed the plan.

Last November, global sales of Toyota Motor cars hit a record high: for example, Toyota and Lexus cars sold 905,066 units worldwide, Daihatsu models accounted for 69,926 units, and Hino cars – 11,270 units. Cumulative sales ultimately amounted to 986,262 vehicles. The increase by November 2022 was 11.6%. During January-November of this year, global sales of cars of brands owned by the corporation amounted to 10,221,720 units (6.9% more than a year earlier).
Toyota Motor noted that high sales were the result of growing demand for brand cars in the largest regions — North America, China and Europe. In addition, the demand for hybrid cars played a role, which increased against the backdrop of slowing customer interest in electric vehicles. In turn, the corporation managed to increase production volumes by reducing the impact of the global crisis, which is associated with a shortage of microchips.

The results of the current year for global car sales will be summed up in 2024. However, it is already known that Toyota Motor is the leader among all automakers in sales of new cars during the first three quarters: the Japanese have left behind both the Volkswagen concern and the auto giant Stellantis. Let us remind you that VW had to temporarily shut down several factories this year due to weak demand for electric vehicles.
Recall that Toyota previously had its own plant in Russia, where the brand’s bestsellers were produced — the RAV4 crossover and Camry business sedan. The enterprise was put on hold in the spring of 2022, officially closed in the fall, and later the site was mothballed. In the spring of this year, Toyota management entered into a deal with FSUE NAMI (a structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation), while the company decided to do without the option to buy back local assets.
