In the war in Ukraine, 55-year-old Pavel Shuvalov from Tulun, Irkutsk region, died in the war in Ukraine, convicted in 2021 in the case of rape of 27 women. Three of his fellow soldiers and a “source in law enforcement agencies” reported this to Lenta.ru.
According to the publication’s interlocutors, in April Shuvalov signed a contract with an unnamed PMC. He was in Ukraine from May 6 and died 23 days later. The Siberian's fellow soldiers told Lenta.ru that they could not take his body.
In October 2021, Pavel Shuvalov, known as the “Tulun maniac,” was sentenced to 24 years in a maximum security colony. According to investigators, from 2000 to 2019, he raped 27 women, two of whom he later killed.
