MOSCOW, December 29 Three-time Olympic medalist in biathlon Dorothea Wierer will miss the fourth stage of the World Cup in Oberhof, Germany, according to the website of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI).
This season, the Italian's best result was 14th place in the pursuit race at the World Cup in Ostersund, Sweden.
““Weerer has finally recovered from the flu, which greatly affected her performance in the first part of the season, and, in agreement with the technical staff, decided to skip this stage in order to intensify her training and enter the start of the next stages in her usual competitive form,” it says in the statement.
The World Cup stage will be held from January 4 to 7.
