CAIRO, January 2 The capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil, was shelled base of the forces of the international anti-terrorist coalition, Al-Mayadeen TV channel reports.
“American troops at a base located near Erbil airport came under fire,” the report says.
Nothing is known yet about the consequences of the shelling.
This is the second attack on the air base in Erbil in a day. The night before, local anti-terrorism services said that the base had been attacked by a drone, but it was shot down.
In addition, Iraqi groups attacked another American base, Green Village in eastern Syria. The Islamic Resistance Forces in Iraq claimed responsibility for this.
Since the beginning of the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, American bases in Iraq and Syria have been regularly attacked, for which armed Shiite groups operating in Iraq claim responsibility.
