RYAZAN, January 3 Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov addressed the population on the Telegram channel, calling on them not to touch suspicious objects due to the possibility of falling unexploded parts of ammunition during shelling from Ukraine.
“
“In connection with the events of recent days, massive untargeted shelling, unexploded pieces of ammunition and other dangerous objects may fall throughout the region,” he wrote.
If you find a suspicious object, you should not pick it up, and you should not approach it at all, the governor added.
«Move to a safe distance! Help children, elderly and sick people leave the dangerous place. If possible, mark and fence off the place of discovery,» he recommended.
After this, you need to call 112 and subsequently follow the instructions of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Gladkov concluded.
Since early morning, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to shell the Belgorod region. According to the Ministry of Defense, the air defense system has already destroyed 12 missiles: six Tochka-U and six Vilkha MLRS shells.
The day before, Ukrainian troops fired 24 Vilkha missiles and two Tochka-U missiles at Belgorod, all of them Russian air defense systems were shot down. These attacks killed one civilian and injured 11 others.
In general, according to Gladkov, the enemy fired at least 54 missiles in six districts of the region during the day.
Massive shelling of Belgorod
On the afternoon of December 30, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Belgorod. According to the Ministry of Defense, they used Alder missiles with a cassette part and the Czech Vampire MLRS. Air defense systems intercepted most of the shells, but several ammunition and cluster parts hit the city.
As the department emphasized, enemy troops fired in an attempt to divert attention from defeats at the front and provoke the Russian army into similar actions.
According to the latest data, 25 people became victims of the attack, including five children, and more than a hundred people were injured. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the articles “Attempted murder”, “Murder”, “Intentional destruction or damage to property”.
President Vladimir Putin called the incident a terrorist attack, noting that it was a targeted attack on the civilian population, which will not remain unpunished.
