BELGOROD, January 3 In Belgorod, about 600 people are evacuated due to unexploded ordnance, a decision is made to dispose of it , reported the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.
«Sappers discovered one of such ammunition today on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street. Now the Ministry of Defense explosion experts are making a decision on its disposal. The operational headquarters decided to evacuate 323 individual houses within a radius of 500 meters. According to preliminary data, this is about 600 people,” he wrote.
According to Gladkov, representatives of the city administration, headed by Mayor Valentin Demidov, and employees of the Regional Security Department of the regional government are working on the spot.
They go around residential buildings and invite those who wish to go to temporary accommodation centers — there they will be provided with hot meals. There are already buses near the collection points for those who decide to move to the temporary temporary detention center, the head of the region noted.
He added that the houses will be under the protection of the police, municipal guards and self-defense until the residents return completely.
As the governor clarified, two more shells were found in the Ulitka microdistrict. Now they are being checked by sappers, the inspection site has been cordoned off. Next, decisions will be made on subsequent actions.

Attacks on Belgorod
On the afternoon of December 30, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Belgorod. According to the Ministry of Defense, they used Alder missiles with a cassette part and the Czech Vampire MLRS. Air defense systems intercepted most of the shells, but several ammunition and cluster parts hit the city.
As the department emphasized, enemy troops fired in an attempt to divert attention from defeats at the front and provoke the Russian army into similar actions.
According to the latest data, 25 people became victims of the attack, including five children, and more than a hundred people were injured. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the articles “Attempted murder”, “Murder”, “Intentional destruction or damage to property”.
In the first days of the new year, Belgorod again came under fire. Thus, during the day of January 2, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired 24 Vilkha and two Tochka-U missiles at the city and region; all of them were shot down by Russian air defense systems. The Ukrainian attacks killed one civilian and injured 11 others. On January 3, the air defense system destroyed 12 missiles: six Tochka-U and six Vilkha MLRS shells. A teenage girl was injured during the shelling of the village of Soloti.
President Vladimir Putin called the attack on Belgorod a terrorist attack, noting that it was a targeted attack on the civilian population, which will not go unpunished.
