MOSCOW, January 4 Kiev deprived those who supported him Western countries have freedom of maneuver, the supposedly democratic West is losing miserably to authoritarian and ultra-nationalist Ukraine, said Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev on the Telegram channel.

“The fact is that the only chance for the current authorities of Ukraine not to collapse, not to appear before the court of history and not to perish in shame in its annals is indeed to drag the West into a conflict with Russia. There are simply no other chances. Hence, keeping the West on the side of Ukraine for any at cost and by all means: staged provocations, attacks on critical infrastructure in the conflict zone (nuclear power plants, hydroelectric power plants, pipelines, bridges), attacks on civilian objects on Russian territory (Belgorod is the most tragic example) and, of course, horror stories about Russia’s inevitable aggression against EU and NATO countries,» Kosachev wrote.
According to him, the West has found itself “in the Ukrainian trap of hopelessness,” while not trying to “give Ukraine a hand,” at least where there are risks of direct confrontation between the West and the Russian Federation, but continues to “silently play with fire, counting on the geopolitical jackpot.” Kosachev believes that this is also evidenced by the “recent irresponsible statements” of European and American officials about the tragedy in Belgorod, who claim that Ukraine has a “right of response.”

Kosachev believes that it is difficult to find a country in the world that is more distant from the liberal values of the Western world than Ukraine.
