MOSCOW, January 3 A bill on Ukraine's withdrawal from the agreement on cooperation between CIS countries in combating the theft of cultural property and ensuring their return was registered on Wednesday on the Verkhovna Rada website.
The bill was initiated by Vladimir Zelensky.
“The adoption of the act makes it possible to bring the legal framework for Ukraine’s cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States into compliance with its national interests and modern realities for the sake of ensuring national security,” says the explanatory note to the document.
Earlier on Wednesday, government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to withdraw the country from the CIS agreement on the interstate system of documentary encrypted communication.
