MOSCOW, January 4. The lyrics of the musical works of Russian artists who performed at the Song of the Year festival make no sense, singer and composer Yuri Loza wrote on his VKontakte page.
“»I found myself a new entertainment — at the same time reading lyrics on the Internet , which sounded for two days in a row on the “Song of the Year”. For any person familiar with the Russian language and literature, this will quite pass for humor,” the artist was indignant.
According to him, it remains unclear how the performers want to “convince their fans, that they understand the meaning when they sing this.”
As an argument, Loza cited quotes from the lyrics of songs by Nikolai Baskov, Dima Bilan, Sergei Lazarev, Larisa Dolina, Ani Lorak, Kristina Orbakaite, Klava Koki and other artists.
For example, the composer pointed to a line from the song “Sharp Razor” by Dima Bilan: “Every other day I live on a crucifix.” The words “and the heart was a stone. They struck a match into the flame” from Nikolai Baskov’s musical work “I am beginning to live” were also criticized by Loza.
