Türkiye topped the ranking of tangerine suppliers to Russia


MOSCOW, January 4 Two-thirds of the tangerines that Russia imports come from Turkey and Egypt, with the most expensive fruits coming from South Africa, according to data from Rusprodsoyuz for the first ten months of last year which he provided.
At the end of ten months of 2023, more than 460 thousand tons of tangerines were imported into Russia. Most of all, and this is two-thirds of imports, from Turkey — 236.1 thousand tons (51%) and Egypt — 63 thousand tons (13.7%).


In addition, the top five largest suppliers of tangerines to Russian tables were Morocco — 50.5 thousand tons (almost 11%), South Africa — 48.7 thousand tons (10.6%) and Pakistan — 15.8 thousand tons (3.4 %). Tangerines were imported from other countries in the amount of 46.4 thousand tons, or just over ten percent of all imports.

At the same time, the most expensive import is from South Africa: a kilogram of tangerines from there costs an average of 111.8 rubles in the first ten months of 2023 versus 70.4 rubles in 2022. Next in price are Egyptian tangerines — 67.3 rubles versus 70.1 rubles a year earlier and Moroccan tangerines — 65 rubles versus 62.3 rubles.
The lowest figure last year was for Turkish mandarins — 60.7 rubles after 55 rubles, and Pakistani ones — 59.2 rubles after 62.5 rubles a year earlier. For other countries, the average value was 91.8 rubles per kilogram (71.9 rubles a year ago).
