MOSCOW, January 7 The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine claims that the equipment of one from a thermal power plant on the territory of the DPR controlled by Kiev was damaged as a result of an explosion.
“Due to the fighting, equipment on the territory of a thermal power plant in the Donetsk region was damaged,” says a message published on the ministry’s Telegram channel.
The department claims that there is no shortage of electricity in the system, the generation of Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to cover the needs of all consumers. However, the ministry urged users to reduce the load on the power grid during peak consumption hours.
It is noted that after emergency repairs, a unit of one of the thermal power plants came into operation, the location of which is also not indicated.
““For the current day, a slight import of electricity is predicted — up to 2 MWh, no export is planned,” the department added.
The Russian Armed Forces began striking the Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10, 2022 — two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, which, according to the Russian authorities, was behind the Ukrainian special services. Strikes are being carried out against energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout the country. Since then, air raid alerts have been announced every day in Ukrainian regions, sometimes throughout the country. At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian troops in battles with the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not attack residential buildings and social infrastructure.
