The changed minimum wage will raise wages for almost 5 million people
From January 1, non-working pensioners will have their insurance pensions and subsistence level indexed by 7.5%. And the minimum wage (minimum wage) will increase immediately by 18.5%. Thus, the “minimum wage” from the beginning of the year will be 19 thousand 242 rubles per month, and average payments to unemployed people will increase to 23.4 thousand rubles.
The Social Fund notes that the current indexation will affect more than 27 million pensioners — their income will increase by an average of 1.6 thousand rubles. As you know, working older people stopped indexing payments to inflation since 2016.
It should be added here that some pensioners received pensions recalculated for inflation back in December of last year. For December, as before, without an increase, and already indexed by 7.5% — for January. This applies to those veterans who receive payments from the 1st to the 8th of each month. For January they received money from December 25 to 29.
That part of non-working pensioners who receive pensions on their cards or through Russian Post branches after the 8th will receive payments, taking into account indexation for January, this month in their usual time frame.
