Ukrainian drone «Baba Yaga» shot down in the Kupyansk direction
Military specialists of unmanned aircraft of the 6th combined arms army of the group of forces «West» at night destroyed the Ukrainian drone «Baba Yaga» in the Kupyansk direction, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Reportedly, «Babu Yaga» “We first saw it through night vision devices based on the heat signature. The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the Ukrainian drone was carrying 82-mm mines and was ready to attack the Russian military, flying at low altitude, trying to hide from air defense systems.

The common name “Baba Yaga” refers to a type of agricultural drones with a large carrying capacity, good navigation and autonomous movement. These are heavy industrial drones — hexocopters, converted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for combat missions. They are quite large in size, with very noisy propellers, low speed and low flight.
The Baba Yaga drone is usually equipped with several radio channels, protected from navigation interference at different frequencies. They can fly along a route in accordance with a given program without communication with the operator, that is, autonomously. Such drones are usually used for spraying fields — they have a large payload capacity, so they are capable of carrying charges weighing up to 40-50 kg.
