MOSCOW, January 7 When identifying the reasons for the sharp increase in egg prices in the DPR, signs of a cartel agreement were revealed, the head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, said in an interview.
Chicken eggs in Russia have risen in price by about 1.5 times since the beginning of 2023, the weekly growth rate has begun to slow down only at the end of December.
«The antimonopoly service, as part of the increase in the price of chicken eggs — in Russia it has risen in price, but our price is higher — has revealed signs of cartel collusion,» the agency's interlocutor said.
In in particular, Pushilin noted, among such signs is a one-time overstatement, as well as its percentage.
“Cases have been opened, and checks are now being carried out,” said the head of the DPR.
