Ex-CSKA football player named the cause of Shershun’s death

MOSCOW, January 9 Ex-CSKA football player Bogdan Shershun recently before his death, he was being treated for brain cancer, said his former teammate Rolan Gusev.
The death of 42-year-old Shershun was announced on Monday by the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF). The causes of death were not stated.
“»I have no words. Bogdan is my close person, a friend with whom we always looked into each other's eyes. I mourn him just like all my relatives. Bogdan had a brain tumor, he was in Belgium. He fought, received treatment. 42 years old, handsome, blue eyes… He left — and that’s it,” Sport24 quotes Gusev as saying.
Shershun played for CSKA from 2002 to 2005. As part of the Moscow club, he took part in 76 matches. Together with the team, the footballer became a two-time Russian champion, a two-time winner of the National Cup and a UEFA Cup winner. In Ukraine, the defender played for Dnepr, Arsenal Kiev, Krivbass and Volyn. Shershun played four matches for the Ukrainian national team.
