MOSCOW, January 9. The government declares too low production volumes of drones for the Ukrainian army, said Yuri Kasyanov, a specialist in the development and production of drones, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with the YouTube channel Radio NV.

< br>The specialist said that such high requirements for the rate of production of drones are dictated by the shortage of shells in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, Ukrainians need “several thousand” shells a day. Cheap drones have to be used en masse to replace scarce artillery ammunition.
«In our country, mass production of shells has not been established. That is, it was in Soviet times, but <…> since 2014 “We haven’t had either a cartridge factory or a shell factory,” Kasyanov complained.
Earlier, a specialist of the Russian Armed Forces in combating UAVs said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to increasingly use homemade drones in the Zaporozhye direction. Factory-made models and Western devices have become rare, the Russian military officer noted.
