NIZHNY NOVGOROD, January 11 The flag of the 650th anniversary of Kirov was unfurled on board the International Space Station, said the governor of the Kirov region Alexander Sokolov in his Telegram channel.
The city of Kirov (formerly Vyatka, Khlynov) celebrates 650 years since its founding.
“»The flag at the station was received by the Russian crew — cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub and Konstantin Borisov. They left memorable autographs and seals on it that can be affixed during space flight. Our anniversary conquers even space,» Sokolov wrote .
The head of the region emphasized the symbolic nature of the event, since the theme of space is inextricably linked with Kirov.
“»The founder of astronautics, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, studied at our gymnasium. Our fellow countryman is the legendary cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Savinykh.
