In Omsk, after a complaint from the “Council of Atamans of the Cossack People,” the concert of singer Lolita Milyavskaya, which was supposed to take place at the Philharmonic on March 27, was canceled. The Super Omsk publication reports this with reference to the regional Ministry of Culture.
According to the department, the reason for canceling the artist’s performance was the lack of a signed contract for the provision of the venue.
“An agreement on provision of the Concert Hall site for rent for this event was achieved six months ago. The contract for the provision of the hall was not signed, tickets are not sold at the Omsk Philharmonic box office. The concert will not be held in Omsk on the indicated dates,” the ministry explained.
At the same time, yesterday in the public page “Council of Atamans of the Cossack People” on VKontakte an appeal appeared to the Omsk Minister of Culture Yuri Trofimov. The authors of the text call Milyavskaya “a participant in the Naked Party.” and remind of the Cossacks’ attitude “towards the promotion of various kinds of sexual perversions.”
“We don’t understand who in the Ministry of Culture of the Omsk Region came up with the idea, after the popular condemnation of the “Naked Party” Anastasia Ivleeva «advertise» these characters on Omsk land, — says in circulation. — <…> In memory of our Cossacks, who laid down their lives for Holy Rus', defending the Donbass, and those who are fighting in Ukraine today, we cannot allow the actors to oppose themselves to the people of Russia, and we demand that the concert be cancelled.”
