MOSCOW, January 12 Russian prosecutors will have to accept “serious supervisory measures” to prevent “outright provocations” and hostile attempts to question the legitimacy of the upcoming presidential elections in the Russian Federation, Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said.
«In connection with the start of the election campaign, it is necessary to take serious supervisory measures during its conduct and on voting days in order to prevent gross violations of the law, outright provocations and other hostile attempts to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the presidential elections in Russia and to undermine our society,» — Krasnov said, speaking at a gala event in honor of the Day of Prosecutor's Office Workers.
This is especially relevant in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, since for them the upcoming elections “are part of the integration of citizens into the legal space of Russia,” Krasnov noted.
The Russian presidential elections will be held on March 17.
