YEKATERINBURG, January 14 One person was killed and seven more were injured as a result of a collision between a bus and a truck on the Perm-Ekaterinburg federal highway, reports the state traffic inspectorate of the Sverdlovsk region.
According to the department, on Saturday evening, on the 232nd kilometer of the Perm-Ekaterinburg highway, the driver of a PAZ bus, while turning, did not give way to a Volvo truck moving in the same direction and collided with it.
«As a result of the accident, a bus passenger, a man born in 1961, died at the scene, seven more bus passengers received injuries of varying severity, with which they were subsequently taken to medical institutions,» the report says.
As the traffic police clarified, eight workers were traveling on the bus and were heading to Nizhniye Sergi. Over the course of 16 years of experience, the bus driver was brought to administrative responsibility for traffic violations once; he was sober at the time of the accident. It is also noted that when examining the scene of the accident, state traffic inspectors discovered the presence of snow on the road. To eliminate the identified deficiencies, an order was issued to the organization serving the highway.
