In St. Petersburg, in the Shushary area, the sorting center of the Wildberries marketplace on Moskovskoye Highway caught fire. The Ministry of Emergency Situations estimated the area of the fire at 70 thousand square meters — the fire was engulfed most of the warehouse.
The fire started at about 7:42 Moscow time, operational services said. To date, no casualties are known.
At this time, night and day employees were changing shifts at the sorting center, but everyone managed to evacuate, claims the Shot telegram channel.
“A week before the fire, the fire alarm went off several times in blocks 1 and 2 of the warehouse. Each time the alarm was false. Therefore, when it went off today, the employees initially decided that it was a false alarm again,” adds Baza.
