Swiss Foreign Ministry: There will be no peace in Ukraine if Russia does not have its say

MOSCOW, January 14 Russia must participate in the peace process in Ukraine, said Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis at a press conference in Davos, the broadcast was carried out on the website of the World Economic Forum.

"One way or another, we must find a way to include Russia in this process. There will be no peace if Russia does not say its word,” he emphasized.

Cassis added that preparations are now underway to involve Moscow in the discussions. He stressed that this issue will most likely require mediation from other states. Nevertheless, it is impossible to hold a peace conference without Russia, the minister noted.

The Foreign Minister also said that representatives of 83 countries are participating in the current discussion on the “Ukrainian peace formula” convened in Davos. According to him, China is not participating, but India, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, also members of BRICS, are present.
The annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland will be held from January 15 to 19.

The “peace formula” developed and promoted by Kiev demands the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, providing it with Euro-Atlantic security guarantees and the creation of a special tribunal to investigate the alleged Russia “war crimes”. In Russia, this initiative is considered completely divorced from reality.

Moscow constantly expresses its readiness to resume dialogue with Kiev, but the Zelensky regime itself has legally prohibited itself from negotiating. At the same time, in the West, it is Russia that is accused of unwillingness to return to negotiations, and Ukraine’s categorical refusal is ignored.
As President Vladimir Putin pointed out, if Kiev wants a negotiation process, then what is needed is not theatrical gestures, but the abolition of the decree prohibiting negotiations. At the same time, he emphasized, a settlement is possible only if Russia's security guarantees are observed.
Moscow has also repeatedly emphasized that achieving the goals of the special operation remains its absolute priority.
