DONETSK, January 14 Ukrainian troops fired eight 155 caliber shells millimeters, including two 155-millimeter-caliber cluster shells and four 152-millimeter-caliber shells against Gorlovka and Donetsk, the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) reported on its Telegram channel.

The representative office also reported that at 20.25 four 152 mm caliber shells were fired into the Nikitsky district of Gorlovka.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, the city is home to the Stirol chemical concern and coal mining enterprises. This is one of the largest populated areas of the DPR; before the start of the conflict in Donbass, the population of Gorlovka numbered more than 250 thousand people.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States has supplied Ukraine with long-range howitzers M777 of 155 mm caliber; Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
