The Astra publication named the surname and initials of an IT student from Tomsk, who was accused of treason in the fall of 2023 — this is S.V. Israfilov.
On October 31, the FSB press service reported on the detention and arrest of a Tomsk citizen without mentioning his name. According to the department, he “expressed commitment to the Ukrainian side” and “carried out hacker attacks of a subversive nature on objects of the Russian information infrastructure” (Article 275 of the Criminal Code).
On the same day, the city publication RIA “Tomsk” with reference to the source claimed that the case involves a student from the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR).
«Sibir.Realii» based on these data suggested that we are talking about an 18-year-old freshman from TUSUR Seymura Israfilov< /span>. He graduated from Russian Classical Gymnasium No. 2 in Tomsk in 2023, and his name is among the participants in the regional stage of the All-Russian School Olympiad in Informatics. Israfilov’s VKontakte page was last active at the end of October 2023.
According to Astra, investigators consider the student a member of the Ukrainian hacker group Cyber Anarchy Squad, which took responsibility for several attacks on Russian resources. The reason for initiating a case against Israfilov, according to Astra, was a series of hacker attacks on the resources of the Tomsk administration and the Research Institute of Tomsk Polytechnic University.
Representatives of Cyber Anarchy Squad today dedicated a post to Israfilov in their Telegram channel. They did not mention whether the student was their comrade-in-arms, but at the same time called him a person who, despite his age, “does what 99% of katsaps do not have the courage to do.”
Back in October, After the arrest hearing in Tomsk, Israfilov was transferred by plane to Moscow. According to Mediazona, on December 12, his arrest was extended by the capital's Lefortovo District Court.
