Last spring, Nissan presented another Pathfinder at the Shanghai Motor Show: it was a concept with a completely different look, it foreshadowed a model for the Chinese market. The serial version was declassified in November, and in December the alternative crossover entered production at the Dongfeng Nissan JV plant (the global SUV is produced in the USA). Now the Celestial Empire has announced preliminary prices and opened the acceptance of applications.
The Nissan Pathfinder intended for China has its own bumpers, grille, headlights and taillights. By the way, the grille is designed in the current corporate style of the brand, while the “world” model, apparently, has yet to switch to it — after restyling.
The length of the Chinese crossover is 5130 mm, which is 109 mm longer than the American Pathfinder, width – 1981 mm (+2 mm), height – 1767 mm (-34 mm). The wheelbase of the cars is the same — 2900 mm. The “Celestial” model has 18- or 20-inch wheels. The passport ground clearance of the “Chinese”, depending on the version, varies from 182 to 184 mm (the version for the States is 180 mm).

The interior is also original: the instrument panel and multimedia system screens are installed close to each other (they are separate for the “world” crossover), the front panel, air deflectors and the central tunnel have also been redone. The Chinese are offered a crossover with a seven- or six-seater interior.

The Chinese Nissan Pathfinder is equipped with a KR20 2.0 VC-Turbo petrol turbo-four with a variable compression ratio, the engine produces 252 hp. and 376 Nm (a similar engine is also installed in the local sister Infiniti QX60), it is combined exclusively with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Let us remind you that the global crossover has an aspirated V6 3.5 (288 hp in the US specification).
Currently, three configurations are available for order, with the more expensive versions differing only in the number of seats. The arsenal of the cheapest Pathfinder includes LED optics, virtual instrumentation and multimedia (each display is 12.3 inches diagonal), three-zone climate control, a rear view camera, a standard video recorder, an electric tailgate and cruise control. The next oldest versions come with leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise, auto-braking, lane-keeping and blind-spot monitoring systems. Later, a top version with a head-up display, nappa leather, ventilated front seats, heated second row will enter the market.
Currently, the price for a new Nissan Pathfinder is 239,800 — 279,800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 2,924,000 — 3,412,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. “Live” sales will start before the end of the first quarter. It is possible that Russian dealers will subsequently organize “parallel” deliveries of such a crossover.
