
MOSCOW, January 19 The top ten most expensive goods in Russia at the end of last year were headed by eggs, tomatoes and pears, follows from an analysis of Rosstat data.
So, eggs rose in price by 61.4%, tomatoes — by 51.1%, and pears — by 48.3%. The top five products with the fastest price increases also included grapes (48.2%) and bananas (46.9%).
The cost of garlic over the past year increased by 46.4%, and gas motor fuel — by 41.2%. At the same time, a trip to Belarus increased in price by 37.6%, the drug Furomesid — by 34.2%. Oranges close the top ten most expensive goods in 2023.
In general, a quarter of the goods whose prices are monitored by Rosstat have risen in price above inflation in Russia, which at the end of last year amounted to 7.4%. Among them are cabbage (29.4%), chicken (27.7%), cucumbers (18.3%), lamb (17.6%), pork (13%), fish (live — 12.5% and ice cream — 9.2%), sugar (10.8%) and rice (10.5%).
Russian authorities expect a significant slowdown in inflation at the end of this year: the Bank of Russia predicts the rate of price growth at 4-4.5%, and the Ministry of Economic Development at 4.5%.
