IRKUTSK, January 19 A resident of Ust-Ilimsk who shot a military commissar with a sawn-off shotgun was sentenced to 19 years in prison, reports SUSC for the Irkutsk region.
In the military registration and enlistment office of Ust-Ilimsk in September 2022, as a result of shooting, a military commissar was seriously wounded by three shots from a sawn-off shotgun. The shooter, a 26-year-old resident of Ust-Ilimsk, also tried to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office and escape, but was eventually detained by the Russian Guard. The military commissar with serious injuries was airlifted to a hospital in Irkutsk, where he underwent a long course of treatment.
The Investigative Committee qualified the incident as a terrorist attack and opened a corresponding criminal case, plus under the article on the illegal manufacture of weapons.
«By a court verdict, the defendant was found guilty. He was sentenced to 19 years in prison with a fine of 150 thousand rubles and with restriction of freedom for 1 year, with the main sentence to be served for the first seven years in prison, the rest in a maximum security correctional colony,” the release says.
During the investigation, more than 80 witnesses were questioned, 13 examinations were conducted.
