During the debate at the visiting session of the 2nd Western District Military Court in St. Petersburg, the prosecution asked for 28 years in prison for Daria Trepova, accused of murdering Z-blogger Vladlen Tatarsky. A Mediazona correspondent reports this from the courtroom.
28 years in a general regime colony and a fine of 800 thousand rubles is the total punishment that the state prosecution is asking for Trepova on all counts.
Trepova is accused of committing a terrorist attack by a group of persons resulting in the death of a person (clause “b” of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code), illegal trafficking in explosive devices (Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code) and forgery of documents (Part 4 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code). Under the first article, the prosecutor's office asked her for 19 years of imprisonment with restriction of freedom for 2 years, for the second — 14 years with a fine of 800 thousand rubles, for the third — 3 years of imprisonment.
Dmitry Kasintsev, in whose apartment Trepova was detained, is being tried along with her. He is charged with concealing a particularly serious crime “by misleading law enforcement agencies” (Part 2 of Article 316 of the Criminal Code). The prosecutor asks Kasintsev to be sentenced to 1 year and 10 months in prison.
Z-blogger and military man from the self-proclaimed DPR Vladlen Tatarsky died in an explosion in a St. Petersburg cafe on April 2. During a meeting between the propagandist and subscribers, Trepova handed him a figurine filled with explosives. As the girl herself stated, she did not know what was in the figurine. As a result, the bust of Tatarsky exploded in his hands — the military commander himself died and several dozen people were injured.
The FSB named Tatar Ukrainian Yuri Denisov as the organizer of the murder. According to security officials, he came to Russia and sent Trepova an explosive device. In addition, intelligence officers believed that the girl committed the terrorist attack because of calls from Ivan Zhdanov and Leonid Volkov for “subversive activities.” The Investigative Committee also named Kyiv-based journalist Roman Popkov, who lives in Ukraine, as involved in the preparation of the terrorist attack. Popkov himself denied this.
At the same time, Trepova said in court that at the beginning of the war she wrote to Popkov asking if it was possible to go to Ukraine as a journalist. Popkov promised to think about it and six months later wrote to her that he was ready to help. As a result, according to Trepova, it was Popkov who introduced her to a man named Gestalt, who then gave her tasks.
