MOSCOW, January 19 Russia will introduce mandatory Consular registration of Russian citizens living abroad follows from the document available.
The Russian government has approved a two-year plan for the implementation of the concept of state migration policy in 2024-2025 (the document is available).
«Introduction of mandatory consular registration of citizens of the Russian Federation living abroad,» the document says. It is expected that the concept of “citizen permanently residing outside the Russian Federation” will be defined, as well as the legal status of this category of citizens will be specified. Responsibility for implementation rests with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
