MOSCOW, January 22. A Ukrainian citizen killed the German who sheltered her, who refused to register her in his home, writes the Bild newspaper.
According to the publication, programmer Jurgen F. provided refugee Elena K. with a room in his apartment after the start of the conflict in Ukraine in February 2022.
He warned the guest that she could stay there for a short time, but Elena refused to leave and lived in Jurgen’s apartment for almost a year. According to investigators, the woman put psychological pressure on the property owner to register her in his home.
The conflicts escalated when Jurgen F. entered into a new relationship in August 2022. Elena K., during an argument on February 5, 2023, grabbed a kitchen knife and fatally wounded the owner of the apartment.
The prosecutor's office charged her with manslaughter. The trial continues.
Previously, the leader of the right-wing German party Alternative for Germany (AfD), Alice Weidel, called on Ukrainians to return to their homeland after the end of the conflict. According to her, Ukrainian refugees have no long-term future in Germany. Weidel added that it was a mistake to allow they receive social benefits.
