MOSCOW, January 23 Dates of the visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Turkey will be announced as soon as the leaders of the countries agree on them, negotiations are on the agenda, said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“We have repeatedly said that indeed high-level Russian-Turkish contacts are on the agenda, they are are preparing. As soon as the presidents finally agree on the dates of the visit, we will inform you immediately, in a timely manner,» Peskov said, answering a journalist's question. Putin's trip is expected to take place on February 12.
The Turkish newspaper Türkiye, citing sources, reported on Saturday that Ankara expects the Russian President's visit on February 12. The Kremlin responded to this by saying that they would inform about the Russian leader’s trip in a timely manner.
Putin previously announced that he plans to meet with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the beginning of the year; before that, the leaders were unable to meet due to the Turkish President’s schedule .
