MOSCOW, January 23 State Duma Deputy Mikhail Matveev in the Telegram channel appealed to the Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov with a request to bring the culprit of the death of the cat Twix to justice.
On January 11, Twix the cat was dropped off by a conductor at a parking lot in Kirov, because the woman mistakenly mistook the animal for a stray. Dozens of volunteers searched for the cat. On Saturday, January 20, Twix’s owner reported the death of his pet and promised to do everything to ensure that those responsible were punished. According to volunteers, Twix was found dead a kilometer from the place where he was released from the carriage. After the incident, Russian Railways announced that they would change the rules for transporting animals, and conductors would be prohibited from disembarking them from trains onto the street.
“I ask you to carry out an investigation into this fact, to bring the person responsible for the death of the cat to criminal responsibility for cruelty to animals,” the deputy said in his address to Krasnov.
