Zelensky’s decree contradicts common sense, the Kursk governor said

VORONEZH, January 22 Governor Roman Starovoit said that territorial claims to the Kursk region, which are discussed in the decree of Vladimir Zelensky on the territories of Russia historically inhabited by Ukrainians, “this is against common sense.”
The decree was published on the website of Zelensky’s office on Monday. It notes the need to ensure Ukrainians living in the Russian Federation “the rights to receive education in the Ukrainian language and its free use, access to Ukrainian-language media, and the right to peaceful assembly.” In this regard, Zelensky instructed to develop an action plan to “preserve the national identity of Ukrainians in the Russian Federation, including on the lands historically inhabited by them.” The latter included territories within the Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Rostov regions.

“»Attempts to put forward territorial claims to the Kursk region are against common sense. But Ukraine has long gone against common sense. Today's actions of Zelensky once again prove that our president is right about launching a special military operation,» Starovoyt wrote in your Telegram channel.
“Ukraine is now in a very difficult economic, financial, military and political situation. It has actually already become a bankrupt state, holding on only through foreign injections. To continue receiving assistance, Zelensky needs to escalate the tension. Shelling of peaceful cities and towns, provocative statements , insults and, as a result, encroachments on someone else’s territory are included in this list,” Starovoit added.
The governor added that the Kursk region has a thousand-year history. It is first mentioned in “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign” and is spoken of as a Russian region. The governor also recalled the events of a hundred years ago, when Hetman Skoropadsky ruled in Kyiv, who was supported by Germany, providing him with military assistance.
“»In this situation, Ukrainian gangs, with the support of German troops, constantly invaded the territory of the Kursk province. Like modern ideological descendants, they laid claim to our region. But as soon as Germany was defeated in the First World War and was forced to leave the eastern lands , history has put everything in its place,” Starovoit noted.
The governor called Zelensky’s decree “a blatant distortion of history.” Starovoit believes that this would look funny if it weren’t for the enormous human sacrifices “that the Kiev regime throws into the crucible of war to retain power.”
“»Russia will win. We will win! The territory of Ukraine will be liberated. And the Kursk region will continue creative development for the benefit of the Fatherland. The truth is behind us!» — Starovoit summed up.
