BYD Yuan Up crossover the size of a Creta: the brand teases with teasers, but the design has already been revealed

The new electric SUV will premiere in the spring. According to preliminary data, the compact five-door will be available in two versions on the domestic market.

In the photo of the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China, the “green” crossover BYD Yuan Up appeared at the end of last year (by the way, BYD has been producing only electrified models for a long time), but the manufacturer pretends that there was no leak and continues the planned declassification campaign. So, the day before, the brand shared corporate photographs of a camouflaged test prototype. And now teasers of the production model have been published. Note that at home, the new product will join the budget Yuan family — it will join the Yuan Pro and Yuan Plus crosses (aka Atto 3 in foreign markets).

The exterior design features of the Yuan Up electric cross are elongated headlights, a “floating” roof, a single plate at the rear (and the lights have a pattern in the form of an infinity sign) and rather massive protective inserts on the sides. The interior has not yet been shown, but spies have already come across the SUV; inside there are separate screens branded for the brand and a multimedia system.

BYD Yuan Up length is 4310 mm, width – 1830 mm, height – 1675 mm, wheelbase – 2620 mm. That is, in terms of its dimensions, the crossover is close to the once popular Hyundai Creta in Russia.

The certificate for the new product states two versions — with an electric motor with a power of 95 or 177 hp. (the engine is installed on the front axle). Batteries not specified. Some Chinese media write that the crossover will be offered with a battery capacity of 32 or 45.12 kWh.

BYD Yuan Up will hit the home market in March of this year. The SUV is predicted to have a starting price tag of 80,000 yuan (about 974,000 rubles at the current exchange rate). If the forecast comes true, then Up will be the cheapest in the Yuan line: the Yuan Pro model, similar to the defunct Ford EcoSport, now costs from 95,800 yuan (approximately 1,167,000 rubles), and for Yuan Plus they ask for at least 135,800 yuan (1,654,000 rubles) .

Yuan Up will probably appear in other countries later.
