MOSCOW, January 24 Russian striker Tampa Bay Lightning «Nikita Kucherov led the scoring race for the 2023/24 season of the National Hockey League (NHL).
In the regular season match against the Philadelphia Flyers, Kucherov scored a double, scoring his 29th and 30th goals of the season. The Tampa forward became the first Russian hockey player in the current championship to reach the 30-goal mark.
Kucherov's second goal in the match brought the Russian the 78th point of the season. Thus, he again topped the list of top scorers of the regular season, surpassing Canadian Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon (77 points). At the moment, Kucherov has 78 points (30 goals and 48 assists) in 47 matches.
Also, in the episode with his second goal in the match against Philadelphia, Kucherov scored the 300th point of his career in the NHL championships while playing in the numerical majority.
