The Russian presentation of the Oting Paladin frame SUV took place at the end of November last year. Then it was reported that sales of the model were planned to begin in the Russian Federation in mid-January 2024, but now it turned out that the start was postponed until February: a new date appeared on the local website of the brand.
Let us remember that Oting is a brand of Sinomach Automobile, which, in turn, is a subsidiary of the Chinese concern Sinomach, famous primarily for the production of industrial equipment. Russia will become the first export market for the subsidiary, which is engaged, among other things, in importing cars of world brands to its native China. At the same time, Sinomach does not have its own passenger models: the Oting Paladin is a converted Nissan Terra produced by Zhengzhou Nissan, a joint venture between Nissan and Dongfeng (in China the SUV is today sold as Dongfeng Paladin).

In terms of dimensions, the Paladin is close to the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport or Haval H9: the length of the Oting model is 4882 mm, the wheelbase is 2850 mm, and the rated ground clearance is 215 mm. Our SUV will be offered only with a five-seater interior. Depending on the configuration, the model’s arsenal includes a multimedia system with a vertical touchscreen, virtual instrumentation, adaptive cruise control, all-round cameras and a set of electronic assistants.
A 2.0 petrol turbo-four from the Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi joint venture has been announced for Russia, the engine produces 228 hp. and 360 Nm, it is combined with a classic ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. In our country, the basic Oting Paladin will be available with rear-wheel drive, other versions will be all-wheel drive (part-time with a rigid connection of the front axle), with a rear differential lock.
