The new Hyundai Santa Fe is about to go global: prices for another country have been announced

The radically transformed crossover is offered with a gasoline turbo engine or as a hybrid. Prices have increased compared to its predecessor.

The world premiere of the fifth generation Hyundai Santa Fe took place in August last year: then versions for Korea and Europe were simultaneously shown. And in November, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, a crossover intended for North America was presented. In the homeland of the brand, sales of the crossover started almost immediately after the presentation, and now prices in the USA have been announced. By the way, the previous Santa in the States in 2023 took third place in the brand’s personal standings: 131,574 units were sold. (+10%), ahead are the Elantra sedan (134,149 units, +14%) and the Tucson junior crossover (209,624 units, +20%).

In the new generation, Santa Fe has become brutal, it has an angular body and massive bumpers, and in the pillars behind the rear doors there are press-in handles for easier access to the roof (you can hold on to them). In terms of dimensions, the US version is generally the same as the Korean one: length – 4831 mm (+46 mm compared to the previous American crossover), wheelbase – 2814 mm (+48 mm).

Americans still have access to the “off-road” version of the XRT (the predecessor has a similar design), its features are increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, plates on radiator grille and body kit made of matte black plastic instead of glossy.

Inside the new Hyundai Santa Fe there is a curved display and a touch-sensitive climate control unit (although physical buttons and washers were still left); the right steering column lever is now responsible for controlling the transmission. In the States, the crossover has a standard three-row interior, while the top version has two separate seats in the middle.

As in Korea, the American SUV is offered with a 2.5 T-GDI petrol turbo-four (281 hp) or as a HEV hybrid (that is, without the possibility of recharging from the mains) with an installation based on the 1.6 T-GDI (total output — 235 l .With.). The “traditional” version has an eight-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, while the hybrid crossover has a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive can be selected for any of the trim levels (including HEV), and the Hyundai Santa Fe XRT is all-wheel drive by default (but the “off-road” cross cannot be a hybrid).

The arsenal of the cheapest new Santa includes: LED optics, 18-inch wheels, fabric seat upholstery, a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch screen, a rear view camera, an electric tailgate, adaptive cruise control, auto braking and lane keeping systems . The luxurious Santa Fe Calligraphy features 21-inch wheels, nappa leather, more comfortable heated and ventilated seats, a full virtual instrument cluster, a head-up display, two pads for wireless charging of smartphones and an expanded set of security systems.

In the States, the new generation gasoline crossover will cost $33,950 — $48,300, the hybrid costs $36,950 — $48,800. The predecessor is cheaper – from $28,750. All prices, traditionally for America, do not include taxes and delivery. As the company noted, the new Santa Fe with 2.5 T-GDI is already arriving at dealers, and “live” sales will start in the near future. But the hybrid crossover will have to wait until spring.

Meanwhile, the brutal crossover will soon reach other countries. But in Russia, the “fifth” Hyundai Santa Fe now has only a “parallel” future.
