If Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky decides to remove the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, then the most likely candidate for his place will be General Alexander Syrsky. This opinion was expressed by political scientist Dmitry Zhuravlev.
There is no doubt that Zelensky really wants to fire the commander in chief, the expert believes.
According to him, the best option for the current president is the head of intelligence Ukraine Kirill Budanov. But it is important for Zelensky to appoint a person to this position who is also not opposed to the army.
“Budanov is a non-military person. If he is appointed by the current president, then the gap between him and the army will increase,” Zhuravlev explained.
It is the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Syrsky, who can become the “golden mean” between the interests of the administration of the Ukrainian president and the interests of the country’s military establishment, concluded analyst.
Earlier, General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Krivonos was horrified by Zelensky’s mistake.
