We welcome the new Chinese electric vehicle brand Juneyao, owned by the diversified holding Juneyao Group, whose main business is the airline Juneyao Air.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, air travel in China and around the world has declined sharply, prompting the owners of Juneyao Air to consider further business diversification. The auto business became a new area of investment for Juneyao Group; in 2022, the holding acquired the struggling Yudo Auto company.
Yudo Auto was founded in 2015 as a private electric vehicle startup, which then came under the control of the Chinese state-owned company Fujian Motor in search of funding. Yudo Auto tried to promote itself on cheap electric cars; its debut model Yudo π1 was a second-generation Haval H1 crossover converted to electric power and slightly redesigned. The following models were derivatives of the Yudo π1, they did not achieve success in the market.

Under the control of Juneyao Group, Yudo Auto introduced in February last year the once again redesigned Yudo π1, on the Juneyao Auto website it is designated as Yudo 3 without emblems, because now Juneyao Group is promoting its own brand in the auto business. It is still unclear whether Yudo Auto will survive in any form, but under the Juneyao brand the holding of the same name is going to promote completely new “electric trains”, the first model will be the single-volume liftback Juneyao Air.

Juneyao Auto works in tandem with Juneyao Air, together they will offer customers comprehensive transport solutions — they say, got off the Juneyao Air plane and got into a Juneyao Air car, taken from a car sharing service or in a taxi. Retail sales seem to be there too — according to the Chinese magazine Autohome, the price of Juneyao Air will be about 200,000 yuan (2.47 million rubles in translation at the current exchange rate), that is, this is quite a premium level. The technical content must be appropriate, that is, at a fairly high level, but there are no details about it yet.

The design of the Juneyao Air electric car is supposedly inspired by airplanes, as the single-volume profile apparently hints at. In the cabin, presumably, you can expect business class comfort.
