In Moscow, the building of the Satire Theater on Triumphal Square caught fire. This was reported by the city news agency “Moscow” with reference to the press service of the capital department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“On January 28, 2024 at 10:58, the crisis management center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Moscow received a message about fire at the address: Triumfalnaya Square, 2. Upon arrival of fire and rescue units, smoke comes out from under the roof of the administrative building,” the department said in a statement.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. 76 specialists and 21 pieces of equipment are working at the scene, the Ministry of Emergency Situations added. The fire is spreading quickly through wooden structures, the department added. Telegram channel “112” wrote that the fire started during repair work — wooden structures on the roof of the building were burning.
At 14:04 Moscow time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire had been extinguished. Earlier, rescue services evacuated 450 people from the building. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical panel.
