Central Office of the Investigative Committeewas going to have a Moscow court arrest Rifat Dautov, a resident of Bashkortostan, in connection with the protests, but he died after being detained. This became known to Mediazona.
On January 26, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow received petitions for the arrest of 37-year-old Dautov and two other people — the emigrated co-founder of the Bashkort organization Ruslan Gabbasov and who was detained at the same time as Dautov protest participant in Baymak Samat Davletova.
As a result, 34-year-old Davletov was arrested, and a decision was made against 44-year-old Gabbasov to arrest him in absentia. In the case of the deceased Dautov, Judge Natalia Dudar terminated the proceedings on the petition.
In addition, as Mediazona was convinced, Dautov had been wanted since January 22.

Rifat Dautov was detained late in the evening of January 25 in Bashkortostan on a criminal case for participation in “mass riots” (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code). According to relatives, Dautov was not at the gathering at the court in the city of Baymak, because of which a criminal case was opened, but was only present during the solidarity rally with the detainees in Ufa.
Dautov’s sister Zaliya Akhmadieva said that riot police grabbed the man in the remote village of Novye Chebenki and took him to an unknown direction. The next day, January 26, the local police officer came to Dautov’s parents and asked them to identify the body.
According to the sister, at first the relatives were not allowed into the morgue, citing the fact that an investigator was needed for this, but on January 27 they still managed to identify the body. However, according to the sister, the family still does not know the cause of death; they were told that “the conclusion will be in 30-40 days.”
Several anonymous pro-government telegram channels gave their version. The channel «Opersvodki RB» claimed that the man «died from ingestion of surrogate alcohol and concomitant heart failure.»
Channel «Texas Khabirov” wrote that they allegedly received a forensic report on Dautov’s alcohol poisoning. The quote specifically emphasized that the man had no traumatic injuries. The relatives were not shown any conclusion.
The authors of “Texas Khabirov” also posted a video clip of people who claim that they were detained that night and saw Dautov. According to them, Dautov was drunk, “could barely stand,” he was “nauseous,” and as a result, he “stopped breathing”; There was “no blood” or signs of beating on him. All the videos were filmed in administrative buildings.
Relatives deny this version and say that the man did not drink. The people in the video who saw him after his arrest, according to the sister, “gave testimony under pressure.”
