MOSCOW, January 29 Head of the Central Election Commission Russia Ella Pamfilova called on candidates for the post of President of the Russian Federation Irina Sviridova, Radu Russkikh, Anatoly Batashev and Boris Nadezhdin to notify the commission about the dates for submitting the collected signatures in their support to the Central Election Commission.
«We do not have any information from Irina Vladimirovna Sviridova, Rada Lizmovna Russkikh, Anatoly Gennadievich Batashev, Boris Borisovich Nadezhdin. We do not know whether they will bring signatures or not. If they intend to bring signatures, please, I am appealing publicly, notify immediately us about when you are planning this case,” Pamfilova said at the CEC meeting.
The chairperson asked the commission staff to immediately send telegrams to each of the applicants «with an urgent request to notify the Central Election Commission about when they plan to do this.»
She recalled that signatures must be submitted to the CEC by January 31.
«It is in their own interests, so that there is no pandemonium, so that we can separate (time procedures — ed.) with other candidates, so that we can organize this process. And not just like that — they came when they wanted, they left, as it happened with us, it’s about five minutes to a time, and do whatever you want. Even when you’re not alone. I will regard this as a provocation,” added the head of the Central Election Commission.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
Currently, 11 people are vying for the post of head of state. The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has registered four presidential candidates — Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
The Central Election Commission must make a decision on registration or refusal of registration in relation to all candidates no later than February 10.
